Together for Climate Action
Let’s Take Small Steps Today For a Greener Tomorrow.

At Shelton Climate Awareness Initiative, we believe climate action starts with awareness—and awareness starts young. We educate, empower, and engage children and their communities to understand climate change, adopt sustainable practices, and shape a future that is clean, safe, and green. Climate change poses a significant threat to the well-being of children around the world, children are one of the largest and most marginalized and vulnerable groups at risk from impact of climate change, but they do not have a strong voice at the table where decisions are made. It is imperative to take immediate action that is children-cantered to protect the rights of children and mitigate the effects of climate change require for a safe and sustainable future
Also, women bear a disproportionate burden, as they are often responsible for household waste management, water collection and caring for the family health.

We Can Do More!
Let’s promote eco-friendly practices to reduce pollution and protect our planet.
AND WE WON!
Biodiversity Small Funds Initiative Winner

Plastic pollution is endangering biodiversity across our planet. It contaminates soil and freshwater sources, chokes terrestrial and marine wildlife, and now makes up around 80% of the total waste in our oceans.
As world leaders gather at the 2025 UN Ocean Conference to accelerate solutions, we’re proud to share that Shelton Climate Awareness Initiative has been selected as a winner of the Biodiversity Small Funds Initiative, hosted by the World Economic Forum’s Global Plastic Action Partnership with support from the Government of Canada.
Together with other winners, we will continue tackling the dual crises of plastic pollution and biodiversity loss.

PLASTIC WASTE MANAGEMENT
Cleaning Communities. Reducing Plastic. Creating Change.
Shelton Climate Awareness Initiative is committed to promoting responsible plastic waste management through hands-on clean-up campaigns and grassroots action. We engage children, volunteers, and communities in practical efforts to reduce plastic pollution and build sustainable habits.
Through school and community clean-ups, we:
-
Remove harmful plastic waste from public spaces
-
Educate on the dangers of single-use plastics
-
Promote recycling, reuse, and eco-friendly alternatives
-
Turn waste into learning tools through creative recycling projects
Together, we’re transforming awareness into action—one plastic bottle at a time.

Trusted Feedbacks
Hosting Shelton Climate Awareness Initiative was transformative for our students. The tree planting and climate awareness seminar opened their eyes to the realities of climate change. What stood out was their inclusive approach, combining learning with care, like snacks and meals. This NGO doesn’t just talk sustainability, they live it.
As a mother, I deeply appreciate Shelton Climate Awareness Initiative’s dedication to both education and health. They didn’t just educate our children about waste management, but they took it a step further by getting the entire community involved in drainage cleaning and even gave us mosquito nets. Their work touches lives directly and with dignity.
Before Shelton Climate Awareness Initiative visited our school, I didn’t know what climate change really meant. Now I understand why planting trees, reducing plastic use, and taking care of the environment is important. They made learning fun and gave us breakfast too! I now want to become an environmental scientist.
